The group, APT31, is allegedly linked to China and specializes in cyber espionage. The Czech government has summoned the Chinese ambassador to condemn the incident.
The attack reportedly began in 2022 and targeted critical infrastructure. While the extent of the damage remains unclear, the ministry has since upgraded its communication system with enhanced security measures.
NATO and the EU have expressed solidarity with the Czech Republic, condemning the attack as a violation of international norms.
