The Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has outsold Tesla in Europe for the first time last month. According to market researcher Jato Dynamics, BYD sold 7,231 fully electric vehicles in Europe in April, a 169% increase compared to the previous year. This places BYD in the top 10 of electric vehicle brands on the continent.

Tesla dropped to 11th place, with sales plummeting by 49% to 7,165 units. Volkswagen remains in first place with over 23,500 sales. 'Although the sales difference between the two brands is small, the implications are significant. This is a turning point for the European car market,' said industry expert Felipe Munoz.

Tesla is facing declining sales, partly due to Elon Musk's role in the US government, where he advised President Donald Trump and implemented budget cuts, leading to dissatisfaction among some customers.
